The Directorate for the Management of the National Archive of Monuments is the custodian of the National Archive of Monuments. A Central service of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and part of the General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage, the Directorate serves both research and the citizens.
The operational goals of the Directorate include
- The establishment and management of the National Archive of Monuments and the Archaeological Cadastre
- The operation of the Historical Archive of Antiquities and Restoration
- The preparation of programmes and horizontal action plans.
The Directorate for the Management of the National Monuments Archive consists of the following three Departments:
- The Department of Management of the National Monuments Archive and Archaeological Cadastre
- The Department for the Management of the Historical Archive of Antiquities and Restoration
- The Administrative Support Department.
